For
some time we have been searching for a suitable solution for those
audiophiles out there that wish to easily access and play back in high
quality, stored digital audio files/libraries. Well, have have found the
solution. Sonos Digital Music Systems allow great flexibility to port music
throughout your home and also into your high-end audio system (via built in
digital or analog outputs or through your own Digital to Audio Converter or CD player
with a SPDIF digital audio input). Audiophiles can access their digital
audio library
(stored
in just about any format) from your desktop PC/MAC (located well away from
your listening room to keep noisy PC power supplies and disk drives out of
ear's reach) via a very convenient and easy to use wireless controller. For
under $1,000, a Sonos bundle will get you up and running in no time...
here is some more info, pics, links, reviews and specs for you to enjoy!
A
basic Sonos set-up requires one Zone Player (ZP80) to connect to your PC/MAC or
Ethernet router, another ZonePlayer to connect to your Hi-Fi rig and a
Controller (you can have more than one of these) that allows you to
interface with all the ZonePlayers (up to 32!) in your home. The ZonePlayers
set up a secure and independent
wireless mesh network (i.e. Sonos will not tie up or use up any existing wireless
network in your home) with other ZonePlayers located throughout your home.
You can stream the same music throughout the whole house or your kids can
stream their favorite MP3 files to their own rooms while at the same time
you can enjoy full CD resolution quality sound played through the Hi-End rig
in your listening room. To
