Merlin, Cardas & Ars-Sonum (and me!)
at the 2007 Home Entertainment Show

Its been a long hard past year for me, so it was good to get out and spend some time with some great people/friends in HiFi land at the 2007 Stereophile (Home Entertainment show). I was doing my ususal thing at the show, helping audio-bud Bobby Palkovic of Merlin Music Systems set-up and run his show suite. We sahred the room this year with Cardas Audio, and Spanish tube amp manufacturerer Ars-Sonum. I (Rich Brkich, Owner of Signature Sound for those of you who do not know me) brough along my new Audio Aero Presitge CD player to perform front end duties. Above you can see a group picture of (from left to right) me, Coleen Cardas (Cardas Audio), Bobby Palkovic (Merlin), and Ricardo Hernandez (Ars-Sonum).

We featured Cardas Golden Reference cables in the room and used the Merlin VSM-MXe speaker system, but the show was abuzz about the sound in our room because of the little $4,000 Ars-Sonum Filarmonia integrated amp that we were using in the room. I've never heard so many favorable comments from show-goers and members of the press about how nice our room sounded. The system gelled extremely well and all of us were very happy with the results. Some old RoomTunes for room treatment and a Critical Mass platform for the amp are some of the accessories used in our room set-up.
