The Second Listening Room

The second listening room is located upstairs from the main listening room. This is where we demonstrate smaller and more budget oriented electronics as well as home theater related products. Being only a 12.5' by 13' room with 7.5' ceilings, there is just enough room to get our home theater set-up along one wall and other affordable gear along an adjacent wall. This room is treated with RoomTune products and some custom built wall hanging room treatment products to enhance the acoustics of the room, while not being too obtrusive in nature. The home theater set up consists of  a custom built stand with a 35" direct view Toshiba TV which faces a comfortable full size couch. While not particularly elaborate, the local market and our customers are most interested in home theater systems that emphasize high quality and good performance without exorbitant prices that come with elaborate customer install systems. To reflect a more typical family room type set-up, you'll notice that speaker placement in this room is more conventional.

The above picture shows the Axiom M22tis running with a Rega Mira integrated amp with Pioneer DVD player feed to a Channel Islands VDA-1 DAC. While the above picture shows a Music Hall MMF-5 truntable, I've just sold off the MMF5 and already have a Rega Planar 2 in the house to replace it as the analogue front end for this little set-up. Facing the Rega/Axiom set-up is another system (see picture below) which has a white Rega Planar 3 turntable on a Rega wall mount bracket with a variety of electronics including the Power Modules Belles 150A Hot Rod power amp, SimAudio Moon I-3 integrated amp, Power Modules Belles 20A tube line stage preamp, Rega Planet or Jupiter CD player, Rega Ela MkII speakers, and PS Audio power conditioning products.

Conclusion

Hope you enjoyed our little tour here of our facilities. As time goes on and we get more pictures and new equipment, we will update these pages. It should be obvious from now that our facilities are not particularly elaborate or luxurious especially when compared to some the elaborate rooms I'm sure you've seen in various HiFi magazines! The important thing we think that needs to be considered here is the number of very positive comments we have receive from customers who have heard some of those fancy (and very expensive) set-ups that are amazed that we get better sound than in those other places. This is also often done with systems that cost a good deal less than what has heard at those other locations. We like to think that at Signature Sound this happens because carefully chosen equipment that is high in performance AND value is set up with care and consideration to the ultimate sonic results and musical enjoyment.
